TAL Manufacturing Solutions Limited, a TATA Enterprise, is a 100% subsidiary of TATA Motors and one of the leading companies in India, successfully delivering manufacturing solutions for over 40 years to customers in Automotive and Heavy Engineering and more recently, to Aerospace and Defence sectors.
TAL Manufacturing Solutions Limited (TAL) was formed in 2000, by merging two mother divisions of TATA Motors – Machine Tools and Growth – the ones that designed and built the machines, equipment and automation requirements of TATA motors, during setup of its manufacturing facilities. These capabilities are now being leveraged to provide cost effective automation solutions, including its indigenously developed 5/6 axis articulated robots, to the industry. Today, TAL is the only supplier outside US to supply Advance Composite Floor Beams to Boeing for its 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Since then, TAL has designed and built machine tools, material handling systems, test rigs, painting systems, assembly & process lines, robotic welding cells, fixtures & tooling, hydraulic tipping kits and axial piston pumps for a wide range of industrial applications. With its strengths in mechatronics, a strong domain knowledge and project management skills, TAL prides itself in its capability to offer Integrated Manufacturing Solutions to the industry. In its efforts to offer latest technology products to its customers, TAL tied up with technology partners like Heller, MAUS, Exechon etc.
TAL established the Tata’s First Greenfield Aerospace Manufacturing facility for Floor Beams at Nagpur, India in 2008. The Boeing dedicated world-class facility is equipped for machining, special processes for exotic metallic materials as well as most advanced composite manufacturing and assembly processes – all under one roof with required qualifications. TAL has commenced manufacture and supply of machined parts and Advanced Composite Floor Beam assemblies for the Boeing 787-Dreamliner, making it the only supplier outside the US to be doing so. This has not only enhanced India’s stature in the global aerospace supply chain network but also demonstrates TAL’s capability to absorb new technologies and its commitment to be globally competitive.
In a short span of time, TAL has garnered orders based on long term contracts from major aerospace OEMs & Tier-1s across the globe. Additional investments are being made in an additional facility to strengthen and grow machining, forming, welding and other capabilities, so as to make the facility a one stop solution for aero-structure and aero-engine precision components and assemblies.
TAL is also leveraging opportunities in Aero Tooling and Ground Handling/ Ground Support Equipment. It has recently launched its indigenously developed articulated 2, 5 & 10kg pay load Robots.
